He is a shareholder based in the Oklahoma City office. He joined the firm in 1990 and his practice primarily revolves around business litigation matters which have ranged from dealing with pre- and post-production oil and gas cases to litigating complex family business disputes. Andy is a certified public accountant and he has represented clients before federal and state tax authorities. He has successfully litigated trust and estate matters for and against trustees including, most recently, obtaining a favorable appellate court ruling upholding the recognition of second-generation beneficiaries of a testamentary trust fifty years after the decedent’s demise. He handled one of the few admiralty and maritime cases filed in the Oklahoma federal courts, and later arrested the same vessel for a different client in an admiralty proceeding in a Florida federal court. After successfully objecting to the debtor’s bankruptcy filing in a distant forum, he ultimately foreclosed on his client’s preferred mortgage interest. From time to time, Andy represents business clients in the divorce setting, when necessary, confronting valuation and similar monetary disputes. In short, Andy is a methodical, solutions-oriented problem-solver who understands litigation from the client’s perspective.
