Diversity & Inclusion
At Fellers Snider, we are committed to cultivating a workplace that promotes diversity and inclusion. We believe diversity in backgrounds, experiences and ideas enriches our workplace experience and enhances the quality of the professional services we provide to our clients. By recruiting, retaining, developing and promoting a diverse group of lawyers and staff, we advance the interests of our clients, our practice and our entire profession. We are dedicated to providing opportunities for our attorneys and staff to reach their fullest potential.
Fellers Snider has implemented comprehensive planning to promote and integrate diversity and inclusion at every level within our firm. This ensures that diversity is a part of our firm’s culture, and that we hire and retain the best professionals to serve our clients.
We’re proud to note that in 2013, the Oklahoma Bar Association honored Fellers Snider with its Ada Lois Sipuel Fisher Diversity Award. In 2016, the Oklahoma City University School of Law honored our firm with the Law Firm Mark of Distinction referencing our efforts in diversity and inclusion.
Diversity & Inclusion Committee
Fellers Snider maintains an active Diversity & Inclusion Committee, which is tasked with facilitating the implementation of proactive policies that address the issues of recruiting, retaining, developing and promoting qualified attorneys and staff, as well as increasing the firm’s diversity. In addition, the committee monitors existing policies and practices to make certain they are consistent with – and actively promote – the firm’s diversity goals.
Diversity & Inclusion Scholarship
In 2012, Fellers Snider launched a scholarship program centered on diversity and inclusion in the field of law. The scholarship recognizes students who are academically successful and community oriented, and who show a passion for diversity and inclusion.
The scholarship is open to all first, second, and third-year students at two Oklahoma law schools (Oklahoma City University School of Law, The University of Oklahoma College of Law). We provide the scholarship application to each of these schools in December, and the schools distribute the application through their respective posting and announcement systems.
