Brian R. Matula
Brian Matula is a seasoned attorney with over 30 years of experience representing oil and gas clients in complex energy litigation.
Brian has extensive experience in commercial litigation and appeals. In both private practice and as in-house counsel, he has provided sound advice to energy industry participants of all sizes.
A skilled negotiator, Brian has participated in dozens of successful mediations. He has handled numerous appeals to the Oklahoma Supreme Court and to the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
Brian has provided counsel to clients on oil and gas transactions. He has also advised clients on complex compliance matters and negotiated solutions with state and federal regulatory agencies.
Brian is known for his logical and concise analysis, attention to detail, and common sense approach. Brian has been repeatedly entrusted by his clients to represent them in complex, high-exposure matters.
Breadth of Experience
Most recently, Brian has represented clients in disputes involving royalty claims, quiet title, riparian mineral rights, oil and gas lease cancellation, oilfield accidents, oilfield pollution, surface owner nuisance claims and conflicts in land-use, as well as the defense of class actions relating to earthquakes.
