The Start of It All
Founded in 1963 in Oklahoma City, Fellers Snider quickly became known for strong trial and litigation work representing local and national clients. In 1964, our founder, James D. Fellers, served as president of the Oklahoma Bar Association, laying the groundwork for decades of legal leadership.

A National Presence
In 1974, Fellers became the first Oklahoman to serve as president of the American Bar Association, boosting our national profile and expanding our work for major corporations. Expanding Expertise
The 1980s saw the rise of our banking, oil and gas, and natural resources practices, alongside continued growth in high-stakes litigation nationwide. We handled landmark trials, including one of the largest bank fraud cases in U.S. history, earning major verdicts and notable defense wins. This period also saw James D. Fellers inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame, and attorney Burck Bailey leading both the Oklahoma County and Oklahoma Bar Associations.

High-Stakes Litigation
Throughout the 1990s, Fellers Snider solidified its reputation as a go-to firm for complex, high-stakes litigation across industries. We obtained what was then the largest punitive damages verdict in Oklahoma—$30 million—and successfully tried hundreds of significant cases nationwide. In 1997, we marked the passing of both founders, James D. Fellers and John Joseph Snider, who had been partners for 42 years.

50 Years of Leadership
We celebrated our 50th anniversary in 2013, honoring a half-century of leadership in the legal community. Our attorneys continued to serve as presidents of key legal organizations, and we were awarded the Ada Lois Sipuel Fisher Diversity Award for advancing diversity in the profession.
